Yevgeny Nikolayevich Ptichkin (June 1, 1930, Moscow, RSFSR – November 28, 1993, Moscow, Russia) was a Soviet composer, the author of more than one hundred songs, primarily written for film. In 1957, he graduated from the Gnessin Music and Pedagogical Institute with a degree in composition. He studied with Nikolai Karetnikov and Alexandra Pakhmutova. He worked for a time as a sound engineer at the House of Radio Broadcasting and Sound Recording, then became a professional composer. From the early 1960s, he wrote music for films. In the early 1970s, he served on the jury of the popular television competition "Hello, We're Looking for Talent!" In the 1980s, he headed the USSR Music Fund under the Union of Composers of the USSR.
