Ella Mai (born 3 November 1994) is a British singer and songwriter fr om London, England. She is signed to DJ Mustard's label 10 Summers Records where she released three extended plays. Her most recent EP, Ready, was released in February 2017, wh ere her biggest song "Boo'd Up" was released as a single in 2018. Originally from London, Mai moved to New York City at the age of 12 before returning to England after graduating from The Queens High School of Teaching, Bellerose, NY. On April 26, 2018, she released a music video for "Boo'd Up" after it unexpectedly started to gain popularity.
